Forsyth Farmers’ Market Appoints Interim Director, Announces Search For Executive Director

SAVANNAH, GA. – June 29, 2022 – Forsyth Farmers’ Market (FFM), a Savannah-based nonprofit committed to supporting local, sustainable food systems, has announced the appointment of Mark Bowen as Interim Executive Director.

“Forsyth Farmers’ Market has been fortunate to have Jeb Bush’s leadership over the last five years. The organization has grown and thrived in many ways under Jeb’s guidance, and he will be missed. Jeb’s last day is July 15th and we all wish him the best in his new role with Habitat for Humanity,” said Louise Tremblay, Chair of the FFM Board of Directors. “We are excited to announce Mark Bowen, FFM’s Programs Director, has agreed to act as Interim Director while we search for an Executive Director who can guide our work in the years ahead. Mark has played a critical role in the expansion of our programs, and there is no one better to ensure all our programs continue to thrive.” In addition to his work at FFM, Mark has significant experience in community organizing, developing and directing adult and youth programs, farming, advocating for food and social justice issues, and horticultural therapy.

“I can’t say enough about how much I have enjoyed my time as executive director with Forsyth Farmers’ Market. I will miss working with our amazing staff and board, and the conversations with program participants, vendors, and loyal customers. While FFM will always have a special place in my heart, I am looking forward to using the skills and knowledge I have developed to serve communities closer to my home”
