Forsyth Farmers’ Market on November 6 will be moved to Tiedeman Park
Change is due to Rock and Roll Marathon
Savannah, GA— Date — Due to the Rock and Roll Marathon that is occurring in the city on November 6, the Forsyth Farmers’ Market will be held in Tiedeman Park. The market will take place along Atlantic Avenue between 44th and 46th Street. The location is directly in front of Savannah Arts Academy in Ardsley Park. The market will still occur from 9am-1pm and a lot of the regular vendors will be there. The Saturday market will resume in Forsyth Park as usual on November 13. This change is only for Saturday November 6 because the streets around Forsyth Park will be closed due to the marathon. On November 6, Forsyth Farmers’ Market will still accept and double your EBT/SNAP dollars and will still be doing the token exchange for credit and debit cards.
Forsyth Farmers’ Market Executive Director stated, “I am glad we were able to find a suitable location to move for this market and we thank the City of Savannah’s Special Events office for their help. November is one of the busiest months for the farmers’ market. Last year, without the race, in the first weekend in November vendors sold an estimated $26,000 of food. Of that, more than $2,600 was sold to food insecure families who participate in the SNAP program for half off. The farmers’ market is essential to both supporting farmers and increasing food access in our community.”
